Blood of Asaheim
This read was the best combination between character, plot and action and reminded me of David Gemmel's LEGEND.My first adventure with the Space Wolves in the Warhammer 40K universe was a good one.
However, Blood of Asaheim has some of the best character development of any 40k book I've read. Third (somewhat more human) take on Space Wolves by Battle of the Fang author Chris Wraight. Chris Wraight has been doing a good job with the Space Wolves and I hope that continues.Infinitely better than the last 40k book I read, and easy on the cheese, I was very impressed by Chris Wraight's style and apt combat descriptions.

Blood of Asaheim isn't the grimdarkest of books, although it does follow the general "the Chaos forces are seconds away from overwhelming the planet and the Imperial forces decides to charge out in a blaze of glory and end up winning after all FURR DA EMPRAH!"
Definitely my favorite 40K book so far.Very good read for the Vlka Fenryka, though a couple of the special characters felt a little too shoehorned in.Good book if you like SCIFI and especially if you like the Warhammer 40K universe.Another fantastic story by Chris Wraight!

The characterizations are awesome and the action is epic. I was enjoying the book, and, well, the story was great. Blood of Asaheim; By: ... Erik Morkai's Space Wolves clash with dark eldar raiders, jump-pack clad Blood Claws taking the battle to the aliens' own infernal airships.
He is a fresh take on Space Wolves' stereotype.
Few can match their ferocity in battle. I have read a number of Warhammer and 40K books, and this one ranks as one of the better ones.

Up to the ending. I thought it bogged down in a few places but things really pick up well once the siege of the city starts and the characters are well developed and different enough from each other that they feel authentic and distinct. I also really enjoyed seeing how service in the Deathwatch can so change the fundamental aspect of Space Marine.I think this book could have been trimmed up a little without losing anything of value.
