I was pointed towards it and thought I'd give it a try since the overall premise was interesting to me (I've always had a fascination for other people's fascinations with performance enhancing drugs!). Thankfully the plot was engaging enough that you didn't really care.

Even Robert de Niro's rare moments on screen are good. I never thought he was a bad actor, but he was able to honestly portray a guy that had absolutely nothing going for him and became a "somebody." This concept was pretty much stolen by the movie "Lucy" with Scarlett Johansson, but that went way over the top and was completely silly.
Limitless doesn't quite deliver on its promise, but it's entertaining and has some good action. So pretentious, full of crap, drug addict obsolete.
