Saddle the Wind is a 1958 Western film directed by Robert Parrish, written by Rod Serling and produced by Armand Deutsch.

This CD features both Bernstein's and Alexander's complete scores in the best-possible monaural sound, as they were recorded. Deneen breaks his ties with the Sinclairs. Saddle the Wind is a most unusual soundtrack CD, not only for resurrecting a music score to a relatively modest western movie from 36-years-earlier, but also for giving us a chance to hear an earlier music score that was ultimately displaced.

Steve drives him off, but Tony confronts Deneen and attempts to kill him.

Plot.

Things go wrong when his wild younger brother Tony arrives on the scene with his new gun and pending bride and former saloon girl Joan Blake. Deneen's men agree to let Steve find Tony if he puts on his guns which he has not worn in years. There's some facile '50s-TV psychologizing, but mood trumps plot, and the inevitable showdown takes a surprising turn. According to MGM records the film made $1,005,000 in the US and Canada and $1,075,000 elsewhere, resulting in a loss of $308,000. We may meet in a valley or on a green hill; Will I be yours? Saddle the Wind turns out to be something of a discovery, thanks to Serling's metaphor-rich dialogue and intriguingly oblique direction by Robert Parrish. When Steve finds him, Tony shoots himself echoing the earlier scene of shooting himself in the pool of water.
